Papillons
have been a part of my life for almost 20 years.
I have bred or
co-bred more than forty Champions including
several specialty winners
and an all breed Best In Show under the
"Nanstar" prefix. Our
Papillons are part of the family and all live as house dogs.
While
I like all dogs and find many breeds fascinating,
the Papillon has a special place in my heart and in my art.

FREE TO FLY (
Retired in 2012 )
The inspiration for this pair of running
Papillons is the joy I have in seeing my
own dogs "flying" about on their daily
exercise runs. We have 2.5 acres
securely fenced for them and mow trails
through the wildlife habitat there so
they can be "Free to Fly" !
They
ride from the house yard out to the fenced
area in a garden cart we call the "bus".
What fun it is to open the "bus" door and
watch them climb over each other in their
rush to get in. Then I pull them out to the
back area and open the door to begin the
races ! ( See the "Inspiration" photo )
Limited editions of 100 each. They are cast
in hydrostone and measure 5 1/2 inches tall
and 7 to 8 inches long. The bases are
designed to fit together and give the
appearance
of one sculpture. |
